Ski Weekend Update

Summer is here!

Winter 2007/2008 is finally over. A very successful season that will be remembered for lots of snow right from the first weekend in December all the way through to the May bank holiday.

Now that the summer is here at Ski Weekend we don't just put our feet up and wait for the next snow....

The skis may have gone back in the garage but the walking boots and mountain bikes are now being dusted off for the coming season.

Have a look at our summer programme on our sister site www.nodeckchair.com.

Walking, biking and activity short breaks based in Chamonix and beyond.

If you haven't been to the Alps in the summer before then now is the time to visit!

Chamonix is more relaxed outside of winter without the rush for the first lift in the morning - warm sunny days, cool evenings and plenty to keep you entertained.

Ski Weekend ::: Weekends ::: Families

Many guests, come out with their families and use a weekend as a first introduction to skiing for their children. Parents bring their children in or out of term for a blast on the slopes. One of our oldest group of clients have, for a number of years, arranged a Dad's weekend. A simple but brilliant concept - Dad brings the kids! The party gets bigger every year. I'm not sure who has more fun - the dads or the Kids!

The major factors in arranging a happy family ski break are short transfers and a family friendly environment. We can arrange family rooms or adjoining to give Mum and Dad a bit of space. Mixed terrain to suit all abilities is ideal.

Skiing and tuition
If you do not wish to take the burden of teaching your children to ski, then an instructor, who can teach skiing and snowboarding, will make the whole experience fun. They need to be flexible to stop when attention spans has worn thin and change the day into snow playing - the emphasis should always be on fun.

Alternatively, we can arrange child-friendly, ski school programs as well as nursery and crèche facilities. Usually these are over a longer period than just a weekend.

In our experience, one of our hand picked Instructors is the best option to provide the service described above. Over the years Ski Weekend have gathered a number of highly regarded female instructors who we think are fantastic at providing children with the perfect balance of learning ski in a fun and secure way.

The busy periods are always, Christmas, New Year, Half term and finally the Easter break. It is essential to book early, and make sure all the detail is sorted in advance so you can minimise the stress of the all-evolving family ski holiday.
