Ski Weekend Update


Summer is here!

Winter 2007/2008 is finally over. A very successful season that will be remembered for lots of snow right from the first weekend in December all the way through to the May bank holiday.

Now that the summer is here at Ski Weekend we don't just put our feet up and wait for the next snow....

The skis may have gone back in the garage but the walking boots and mountain bikes are now being dusted off for the coming season.

If you haven't been to the Alps in the summer before then now is the time to visit!

Chamonix is more relaxed outside of winter without the rush for the first lift in the morning - warm sunny days, cool evenings and plenty to keep you entertained.

We Can Do It! - Skiing for Singles

Nowadays, more and more people are taking ski trips on their own, even though we know very few want to ski by themselves.

Group Skiing

If you are on your own but want to ski in a group, we'll be able to make introductions and set you up with skiers of similar abilities. Our daily ski orientation programme in Chamonix gives everyone the chance to meet up with fellow skiers in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere We recommend that, as a single traveller, you choose your hotel's bed and breakfast option. It's flexibility will allow you to eat in or go out to supper with ski companions.

On Saturday evenings our resort co-ordinator organises an informal rendezvous at a local bar. There's partying until the early hours for those with the energy, while dedicated skiers may settle for just a nightcap and the first lift in the morning.

One opportunity not to be missed is a ski descent of the Vallée Blanche. Weather permitting, and with a professional guide, this gives intermediates and above a whole day on the glacier. A Vallée Blanche descent on the last day of your weekend is an experience anyone would want to take home with them.
