Ski Weekend Update

Summer is here!

Winter 2007/2008 is finally over. A very successful season that will be remembered for lots of snow right from the first weekend in December all the way through to the May bank holiday.

Now that the summer is here at Ski Weekend we don't just put our feet up and wait for the next snow....

The skis may have gone back in the garage but the walking boots and mountain bikes are now being dusted off for the coming season.

Have a look at our summer programme on our sister site www.nodeckchair.com.

Walking, biking and activity short breaks based in Chamonix and beyond.

If you haven't been to the Alps in the summer before then now is the time to visit!

Chamonix is more relaxed outside of winter without the rush for the first lift in the morning - warm sunny days, cool evenings and plenty to keep you entertained.

Ski Weekend ::: Travel

Ski Weekends - Travel

With time at a premium, the critical factor in your ski weekend will be your travel arrangements. Get them right and you’ll enjoy yourself. Get them wrong and your weekend’s spoiled.

Tailored Travel
When you’re choosing your resort, there are a number of criteria to bear in mind. For the maximum time on the snow, you need to keep the transfer time to a minimum. So it’s best to choose a resort where you can be sure of good access, even in heavy snowfalls. A good snow record, and a mixture of skiing conditions suitable for everybody in your group, are also vital.

Other factors to consider are the après-ski and non-skiing facilities, and whether the resort is purpose built or features traditional buildings.

How you travel is your choice
We can offer scheduled flights, hovercraft or ferry crossings, or access via the Channel Tunnel. Whichever you choose, we aim to get you to the resort feeling calm and stress free.

Our preferred airlines are Swiss and British Airways. We feel they offer the best scheduled flights and services to the main Alpine gateways of Geneva and Zurich.

We also use Air France and Alitalia, all of whom serve resorts close to Milan, Lyon and other destinations.

For Chamonix arrivals, most of our clients like us to meet them at the airport and then travel with them by luxury minibus or coach to their resort. Our resort staff will greet you at the airport, travel with you and help you check into your hotel.

If you would prefer to travel from the airport by train, private limousine or helicopter, we can arrange this for an extra charge.

If you would prefer to take a hire car, and keep it for the duration of your stay, we can arrange this too. Whatever your option, call us and we will provide you with costings.
