Following 'deconfinement', France is no longer in complete 'lockdown'. A final announcement on when French ski resorts will open will come on 11 December, however, the current nominal opening date for lifts is 20 January.
Currently we expect that the Grand Montets will open for skiing on 20 January. We expect that the Montenvers lift will also open again on this date.
Remember that the Argentière-Lognan et Lognan-Les Grands Montets cable cars remain closed, as a result of the fire at the Lognan cable car mid-station, which took place in September 2018.
Flégère and Brevent
Flégère and Brevent lifts should open on 20 January. Last winter saw the new €20.5 million gondola open at Flégère.
This year Brevent has been celebrating its 90th birthday since its inauguration in 1930.
Aiguille du Midi
The Aiguille du Midi cable car would be closed regardless during November for its annual closure and is not due to open again until 11 December. However, it is expected to remain closed until 20 January.
Full Chamonix opening date
If all goes well, Chamonix should open in full on 20 January. This will also be the date that the Tramway du Mont Blanc will open.
