Although it’s great to see that infection rates are going down in Europe and life is returning to normal, at Ski Weekend we are taking our own additional steps to assure the safety of our guests this winter.
This has been a year unlike any other for travel and tourism. We saw the ski lifts in France finish early for the season, but the last few months have seen a recovery to the ‘new normal’.
Chamonix has been leading the way. It was the first resort in France to re-open its lifts and has just announced another great innovation for tourists for this summer.
This weekend the Aiguille du Midi cable car and Montenvers train in Chamonix both opened. They became the first lifts to start again since all ski resorts in France closed down due to Covid-19 in March 2020.
It’s surprising how often we are asked if Chamonix has a train station. The good news is that it does and it’s well serviced from France and Switzerland, as well as along the Chamonix valley.
